Projects to date have focused on expanding advancing clean vehicle technologies and transportation systems, advancing global warming policy, improving air quality, expanding and improving green space and community parks in urban neighborhoods, creating and implementing energy efficiency, water conservation and sustainable development initiatives, researching and promoting waste diversion and waste minimization programs, promoting greater use of renewable energy and publicizing a wide range of environmental activities through media outreach, events, community forums and materials development. The firm has undertaken market assessments ranging from analysis of environmental organizations active in California to identifying potential buyers for a green technology trade mission led by a foreign government.
BWG has gained national attention for its work in building and managing coalitions to advance environmental policies, including environmental coalitions working on the implementation of the California Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32), expanding state adoption of California’s groundbreaking law (AB 1493) to regulate global warming pollution from passenger vehicles (now adopted, or in the process of being enacted in 20 other states), and coordinating activists from across seven states and two Canadian provinces engaged in the Western Climate Initiative process. The firm is entering its fifth year of managing outreach for the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee, which allocates an estimated $15 million annually in Clean Transportation Funding.
