Awards & Recognitions

The Better World Group and our professional staff have received numerous awards and recognitions over the years.

Awards

• Wendy James, President, was honored in 2009 by the Coalition for Clean Air with a Ralph B. Perry III Lifetime Achievement Award.
• Susan Frank, Executive Vice President, received a 2009 Breathe California Clean Air Award for Leadership in recognition of her work with the Diesel Rule Coalition, a coalition of environmental, public health and environmental justice advocates that worked to ensure the state Air Resources Board approved a strong diesel truck/bus rule in December 2008.
• Wendy was honored by the California Climate Action Registry in 2008 with a “CARROT Award.”
• In 2006, Wendy was named Small Business Woman of the Year for California’s 20th Senate District and 43rd and 44th Assembly Districts.

Recognitions & Other Honors

• The Better World Group is a Charter Member of the California Climate Action Reserve (formerly the California Climate Registry). We helped to create the Registry, including heading up the California Climate Action Registry Working Group, which was the entity that formed the organization’s incorporation in 2002.
