At Better World Group, Kimberly applies her experience with collaborative partnerships, storytelling, and ecology toward projects related to communications and conservation.

Prior to joining BWG, Kimberly was a member of the pilot cohort of California Climate Action Corps. While at her host site, City Plants, she worked on L.A.’s Urban Forest Management Plan by conducting a cross-city analysis of urban forest maintenance best management practices, launching L.A.’s urban forest financing study, and facilitating public-facing webinars regarding urban forestry topics in partnership with City of L.A. staff.

Kimberly holds a Master of Science degree from University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability, where she focused on behavior, education, communication, environmental policy and environmental justice. Her capstone project explored the benefits, challenges, and best practices of the collaborative management of California’s marine protected areas (MPAs) through the CA MPA Collaborative Network. Before returning to graduate school, Kimberly interned at conservation nonprofits in the Bay Area to educate students and volunteers about watershed science and habitat restoration on public and private lands. Kimberly obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University, where she majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

In her free time, Kimberly enjoys volunteering with local environmental organizations, reading, and learning how to climb.
