Serena supports the firm’s clean and equitable transportation portfolio.
Serena helped lead the California Clean Cars Campaign to successfully strengthen the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Advanced Clean Cars II rule. With her organizational, research, media and communication skills, Serena helped engage and mobilize a diverse coalition of equity, health, faith, business, and environmental groups to call for a strong rule making.
Serena also supports the clean transportation team's efforts to facilitate the coalition of advocates working with CARB to develop a stronger Advanced Clean Fleets rule and supports advocates working to adopt California’s clean transportation regulations in states across the nation.
Serena is passionate about mitigating and reducing the impacts of climate change by lifting the stories and voices of those who have been historically underrepresented. Serena is currently completing her Master’s degree in Sustainability Management and Policy at California State University, Long Beach. Prior to joining her time at Better World Group, Serena worked as a chemist, testing cannabis products and nutraceuticals for heavy metals. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During her free time, you can find Serena with her two cats, studying, at the beach, or floating in the Tule River with family.
