Adam is a senior strategic advisor at Better World Group, supporting portfolio growth across the firm’s existing and emerging practice areas and catalyzing business development.
As BWG look to expand our national reach while maintaining local connections, both Adam and Meghan will support us in threading this needle. We will be sharing a press release with key partners, clients, and friends of the firm to announce Adam and Meghan’s arrival to BWG later this week. Adam Friedman has more than 35 years of experience in economic and community development, nonprofit management, urban planning and policy and development of sustainable practices. He is recognized nationally for his work to strengthen urban manufacturing and to build organizational capacity. Friedman was previously Chief Strategy Officer at Pratt Institute where he developed relationships with industry and government strategic partners, identified growth opportunities and supported implementation of major initiatives including the launch of the NY Climate Exchange, a research, training and business accelerator, and Design Works, a new public high school devoted to design and social justice.
Adam has a strong track record in city government, having worked closely with two Borough Presidents and a Council President, and serves on the boards of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and Economic Development Corporations. He is also the co-founder and Chair Emeritus of the Urban Manufacturing Alliance, a national network of practitioners representing more than 300 cities.
Adam is a graduate of Cardozo School of Law and Haverford College.
