Our Team / Pooja Agarwal
Pooja applies her background in clean energy, coalition building, and policy analysis to support climate and environmental justice campaigns.
Pooja has skills in policy research, advocacy, and data analysis and experience building partnerships across nonprofits, government, philanthropy, and industry. Her current work at Better World Group (BWG) focuses on clean energy, zero-emissions transportation, industrial decarbonization, equity, and climate.
She started her career in the philanthropic sector, supporting grantmaking on international climate policy issues at the Hewlett Foundation. She then went to graduate school, during which she interned at Atlas Public Policy, a data and policy research firm, and completed consulting projects with the India Energy and Climate Center, California Energy Commission, and Alameda County General Services Agency. Before joining BWG, Pooja worked at The Climate Center, managing legislation and other policy initiatives on distributed energy and electric school buses in California.
Pooja holds a Master of Public Policy from University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. Outside of work, Pooja volunteers with food justice organizations in the Bay Area and enjoys rock climbing, camping, and gardening.
